My school doesn't have honors classes. They have pre-AP classes, AP classes, and IB classes. And then they of course have regular classes. My school is pretty big, it has almost 4000 students, it is in Southern California, and is above average academically, but for some reason, it doesn't have honors classes. These classes give you extra weight on your gpa. What about your school? Does it have honors classes?

I go to school in SoCal too.

We have honor classes and they are weighted. What school do you go to?

In my school, pre-AP and honors are synonymous.

We also have AP classes.

All of these classes are weighted and our rankings are based on our weighted GPA.

My school has both honors and AP classes, but they’re not weighted, so they have little to no pay-off (other than looking good on applications, of course). It’s sort of irritating that they don’t weigh them.

I can’t tell you what school I go to BattleForLA. I don’t want anyone to try to track me down. But I’ll give you a hint: it’s in Southwestern Riverside County

I go to a public school with 600 students. We have honors classes in math, English, and science. We had four AP classes in the 2012-2013 school year and seven in the 2013-2014 school year, so they’re trying to improve. Nothing is weighted.

I think Pre-AP is basically the same as honors, but Pre-AP has the College Board brand name and honors doesn’t.

I go to a Catholic school in CA. We have honors and AP here, which are weighted equally (A=5.0, B=4.0, etc.).

My school has standard, honors, and AP.
standard classes are weighted as 4.0, honors 5.0, and AP 6.0 if you get 93+

In mine, 6.0 for honors/pre-AP/AP, and 5.0 for on-level classes.

+1.0 for AP/Honors is my current school.
+.333 for AP/IB/Honors for my old school.

+1.0 for IB/AP
+0.5 for honors/pre-IB
+0 for CP/electives
