I was really concerned about having to spend nearly 1k just on the AP exams but I just found out the school pays for them!!! unfortunately, it doesnt cover the fees for self studied AP exams ...

hows your school?

I was really concerned about having to spend nearly 1k just on the AP exams but I just found out the school pays for them!!! unfortunately, it doesnt cover the fees for self studied AP exams ...

hows your school?

Yes, my school does pay, but only if we get a 3 or higher (which isn't hard at all)

Wow, you guys are lucky. My school's cheap; we have to pay for our APs. Maybe that's why hardly anyone here takes them...

Nope the school doesn't pay.

you go to private or somethin?? or just a bad neighborhood where the schools promote APs, so they pay??

ours cost 90 freaking dollars!!!

My daughter's school subsidizes them - students pay $57 per test.

Wow. That's actually the first time I've heard about schools paying for AP exams...I thought we always had to cover the cost ourselves, no matter self-studied or at school. @@" now I think our school's ripping us off....haha

What the heck?!
I always thought the students pay for APs (like SATs)

My school is $82 each for first two, and $75 for subsequent ones.
(I heard there is AP fund - federal and state - so I thought we had to pay otherwise)

My school is a public school in Bergen County NJ. I'm from a smaller town than normal around here (about 8,000 people) but living in Bergen County a lot of people have money here (especially north-west Bergen, where I'm from. Unfortunately, my family isn't that lucky, but the school district still has the money to pay for AP tests as long as you pass them. It's a savior for us - my mom can't afford $300+ for four tests this year, so our school's policy is great.

My school pays for any AP exam (whether you take the class or not).

Actually, I think the state (Florida) picks up the bill. I think I read about a partnership between the State of Florida and the College Board.

Last year, Coca Cola picked up our school's tab. My principal had connections...Atlanta..Coke's headquaters...you get the picture.

But this year, new principal = no connections = the school pays for the first test and every subsequent test is $75. That means I'll be paying $300.

Our school pays for the AP exams if the students are in the AP or IB class for that subject.

Self-studied exams must be paid for by the student.

"Actually, I think the state (Florida) picks up the bill."

True! Not a single public school student in Florida pays for their AP exams. If you don't want to take the exam, however, my school (I'm not sure if other FL schools do this) requires you to PAY back the fees; essentially you have to pay not to take them!

We pay for them ourselves- no discount or subsidy whatsoever.

They are all $74 each at my school.

we pay 82 per person here

edit: per test

y do all you ppl have discounts... my school must be poor or something because we have to pay 82 for each exam

we pay $82 a test. NO reduction after the 1st test, no nothing.

We (the students) pay $82/exam. It doesn't really make a difference, because my school limits the amount of APs/year to two, and only allows us to begin taking them junior year. (no self-studied allowed)

It's an city public school, and their policies are absurd.

I go to a public school in Virginia, and the county covers it.
