Does your school publicly announce AP scores/AP awards?

My school announces the number of exams we took and the AP award we received. I did horrifically on several of my exams. :(

I honestly don't care at all about the AP scholar awards, but I do care that it's going to be for all intents and purposes announced that I took a lot of exams but received the lowest level of award, which means that I failed a lot of them.

if I send in a request to cancel several of my scores, can I get a different AP Scholar award?

I don’t know the answer to your question but just wanted to say sorry that your school does that. That puts way too much pressure on kids who aren’t good test takers.
If your scores and awards still go up just think that in 10 years you definitely won’t be thinking about all these stupid AP tests you had to take in high school.

:( I guess. I really wish it wasn’t this way

I just noticed on my D school web site they do announce it but it is well before the student actually receives the notice. However, they do not announce the number of AP tests.

If I were you, I would request the school edit the website to delete the number of AP tests taken. Unless you signed a privacy waiver they will quickly comply…

No.

I was shocked when I stumbled upon an announcement about AP Scholars in my grade on the local blog/“patch”.

I was even more shocked because we don’t offer enough AP classes to make one eligible to become a state AP Scholar.

My school doesn’t do that, nor do I think they should. I’m sorry this doesn’t apply to your school too :(

If you send in a request to cancel scores, it might look better for your tests-taken/tests-passed ratio, but it won’t change the award you receive. To get a higher award, you would have to take MORE tests and do well on those, not take away pre-existing tests. Awards are given out based on total number of passed tests. The number of failed tests isn’t taken into consideration.
