Does your university have school on MLK day?

<p>I go to Northwestern and we get 11am-2pm off today to celebrate Martin Luther King day. The Vice Chairwoman of the NAACP, Roslyn McCallister, called for NU to change its policy and give the whole day off to students. Are we the only school that has class on MLK day? I know we're the only one in the Big 10, but how many other schools IN THE COUNTRY actually have class today?</p>

<p>Well, many schools are still on winter break which means they don't have to make that choice.</p>

<p>My school is still on winter break for another two weeks, but the college's offices are closed today.</p>

<p>Public k-12 schools and colleges in California are closed today. As other posters have said, many public and private colleges are still on winter break, but spring term move-in may start today. </p>

<p>Some hi-tech companies in Silicon Valley are working today.</p>

<p>Some public/private schools and colleges in Cali will also observe Ceasar Chavez Day on March 31.</p>

<p>My school, University of Houston, doesn't. School starts tomorrow, crap! That 33 day winter break seemed really short to me now!</p>

<p>I'm still on Winter Break, so no I don't have classes. I'm sure if I was back up at school we would have classes though.. we never get off for any of the random holiday days. Kind of annoying when other schools around ARE off. :(</p>

<p>I'm at UNH. Tomorrow is our first day of classes. The dorms opened yesterday, but most of us came back today.</p>

<p>My school counts it as a holiday and as the end of winter break. Dorm move-in started Friday.</p>

<p>We get no holidays though, aside from spring break, fall break, thanksgiving, and winter. No 3 day weekends ever.</p>
