I have posted several threads inquiring about the Art Institute of Atlanta. Never get any replies.
I am curious why the Art Institutes are not ever mentioned when prospective students are listing their choices of art schools.
AIA is SACS accredited and I think, NASAD accrredited.

My daugher is interested in Photography. We went to an open house a few weeks ago and it looked very interesting - phototgaphy dept has very good equipment, dept head seems great - stressing carreer focused education.

We are new at this and need some feedback. Help.

Someone please coment.

They're hardly ever mentioned because the art institutes are the WalMart of art schools, but without the low low prices. They are interested more in profit than quality: sometimes you may find some good teachers there, some good photo equipment, but for the most part you'll need to be self-motivated every second of every day and will be surrounded by people who aren't. I knew a guy who taught at one of the art institutes (not ATL), and he encouraged his best students to transfer elsewhere, both so that they could better themselves and so that they wouldn't be tainted with the art institute reputation upon graduation.

That said, I have heard slightly better things about Atlanta and San Francisco than the rest, but that is why they don't get talked about here on the whole.
