Doesn't seem like many schools still consider the essay score on the SAT? True?

Do many of small selective liberal arts colleges/universities/Ivies still look at essay scores on the SAT?

Many highly selective colleges still require it, must mean that they give some consideration to it right?

Yes, they do look at your essay score, since it is a requirement as @chenlele pointed out. However, IMO, it is more of a sanity check than a serious yardstick of evaluation. Many AOs will simply move along if your SAT essay score and the completeness of your college essays roughly match. However, if you perform poorly on the SAT essay section but submit unbelievably well-written college essays, it might raise some eyebrows.
