Doesn't UC Berkeley and LA see my GPA/ grades?

<p>I have been wondering this for a long time as an international student. On the UC application, they do not have any place to send recommendations or grades?</p>

<p>For the recommendations, I checked the FAQ and realised they do not consider them. (Tell me if I am wrong?)</p>

<p>As for the grades, I don't understand how UCLA or UC Berkeley do not require the school counselor to send the grades for admission consideration??</p>

<p>So is it that they only look at SAT,essays, extra-curicular activities? </p>

<p>I would really appreciate if someone could help me out with these questions, with regard to all the UC schools, especially UCLA and UC Berkeley. </p>

<p>No recs accepted, unless they ask for them (which is extremely rare). No transcripts until you are accepted. You self-report your grades on the application.</p>
