Holiday might mean Christmas or Hanukkah or New Year’s or general winter - or whatever you celebrate!
I did a little outdoor decorating this past weekend will add some lights this weekend to a new-to-us porch (new home). I took a cue from a local Instagram person and shopped my yard to make this cute planter with stuff that exists in my yard, minus the bow. I think it came out great! I also bought a cute 3-4 foot lighted flocked tree that is sitting on a low table between 2 blue Adirondacks that live on our porch.
Little decorating inside yet besides a couple little mini trees I just had to plug in. I did buy a vintage large round cutting board shaped like a paddle that I added a little ribbon and greens to - it hangs on a wall near the kitchen.
We will be putting up our standard snowflake lights on the roof next weekend but will have to figure out what to do with the deck lights. Our new deck has frameless glass railing so have to think of some clips or something.
I always like the idea of winter decorating/hygge type stuff and this year decided to do something about it. I bought two sets of fairy lights, put one in a glass topiary, and they look nice! The other set I might string above my desk in the kitchen. Easy enough and they are battery operated. I love the look of basic white string lights in the dark months.I also decided to buy some new pillow covers for the living room couch in more of a winter, seasonal color like dark green, and bring more blankets from around the house.
All great ideas. I have a plug in set of fairy lights that are on their 2nd or 3rd year of year around use from Amazon - knock on wood they keep working!
Ooo! I have dried hydrangea and I think the idea of using them I’m my porch planters might just work. I have some neat burlap ribbon with snowflakes…and we have plenty of greens, and Holly!
