Doing bad in a prereq?

<p>I'm applying to USC and some UC's (ucla, ucsd, uci). I'm majoring in either business or econ but I had some problems this semester and am afraid that I will likely get a C in my calculus class. How detrimental is this towards my transfer chances? I have a 3.7-3.8 gpa. Is it a good idea to take a W and retake the course over the winter?</p>
