Doing horribly in Precalc Honors?

I was in regular Algebra 2 last year and regular Geometry for half of a year freshman year because I was struggling in Honors and decided to switch down. This year, I decided to take Honors again after receiving easy A's in regular math. I thought I was prepared for the challenge, but apparently I'm not. I failed my first quiz, and got an 88 and an 85. I just got my last test back and i got a 62. I'm beyond upset and disgusted with myself. I've been using math help on youtube and a cliffs notes book and my textbook, but the techniques I used on the test my teacher marked wrong. I'm really not sure what to do at this point. Switch into regular Precalc and switch around my entire schedule, or keep trying and end up with a B for the final grade? I'm just worried that if I stay my first quarter grade (which will most likely be a low B) will follow me throughout the entire year and I won't be able to achieve an A for my final grade.

I am in 3 APs as well as this class and am in honors foreign language as well. If i were to do regular precalc, would it affect my chances for top schools (I really would like to get into Michigan).

Thank you so much if you read the whole thing. Sorry it was long Im super frustrated and worried!

I would think about getting a personal tutor if you haven’t already, instead of switching your whole class schedule. That really helped me a lot last year when I had trouble in math. Even if this isn’t possible, you still might want to try to stick with the class for a little longer. A friend of mine was in a similar situation in pre calc honors last year, and after the first few tests, she found that things got a lot easier. Things obviously might not be the same for you, but it is possible that you will eventually improve. Also, are there any other math classes that you could take if you dropped out of your current one? I know that AP Statistics is available at some schools- I’m not sure if you’d be able to transfer into it, but it might be worth a try.

Bump anyone?

You’re worried about getting a B? I have the exact same situation as you (Like literally exactly the same) and I BARELY have a C and would party hardy if I get a B.
