I am finishing my undergrad in Scotland currently in "Mechanical Engineering". It is a 4 year undergraduate course. I am Expecting a 2:1 or a 1st Class degree. Which technically in terms of the US University system converts to a 3.2 - 3.6+ GPA. However, no official standard exist to convert the grade correctly, it generally depends from university to university.

My main question is, I want to major in Computer Science. And as it can be seen my undergrad degree does not match the credentials for a masters in Computer Science (or relevant field).

Is it still possible for me to pursue the field? Any guidance on how to go about it will be appreciated.

Bumping the thread

To be honest why would you switch from Mechanical engineering to computer science? As for switching to computer science i see no reason why it would be so much different from engineering degree since the courses are usually the same except physics. Look into different types of schools to see what they offer far as transferring your courses, maybe they have something where your credit could go towards computer science. Also its never too late, the world is yours!

Having a change of mind, Just recently have got into basics of coding. I am liking it so far, but still having two minds about it.

To my thinking i feel like in terms of future career prospectus, there’s more scope in Computer programming. I maybe wrong, any advice would be helpful
