Doing no summer program junior year?

Hey,

I’m a junior in a fairly competitive high school. Many of my friends are applying to Summer programs this year, such as RSI and HSHSP.

I know I didn’t get into RSI. Other than RSI I haven’t applied to other programs since I’m already doing research, and I wasn’t interested in doing science research again.( I’m interested in business).

Would my friends at my High school have a competitive advantage over me if they attend a prestigious summer program and I don’t?

I will be continuing my current math research, and pursuing a business idea I have developed.

Thanks

It sounds like you don’t need a summer program if you are already doing research and pursuing a business idea. Colleges will be as, if not more impressed with your initiative in pursuing these independent projects.
