I've applied to one liberal arts school and I'm planning on doing pre med (not as my major - it would probably be chemistry or cognitive science if offered). What are the pros/cons of doing pre med at a liberal arts school? I know it should vary depending on which school, but any general input would help! I go to a liberal arts high school and I really like the approach/environment. I'm just not sure if this would be best to go to a liberal arts univ. for pre med and sciences in general.

As long as you score well on the MCAT and have the required courses for med school entrance, it doesn’t really matter where you go to college. People get in with BA’s, even with majors in literature or philosophy. Non-science majors can gain you attention by admissions folk at med schools, as it shows you are well-rounded. Small LAC’s sometimes have great opportunities to participate in research.

Agree with KKMama.

LACs are fine for pre-med students. Any good one will have a good advising program for pre-professional students. You will do best in the environment that suits you the best and for some students that is a LAC.
Lots of previous threads on here about this, and in the pre-med forum. You may want to check there for lots more info.
