Doing science internship as an engineering major?

I have been offered two internships. One doing paid research with a professor at my college in biomechanics. This is the work I was doing this summer and I really enjoyed it and will be continuing it during the school year. The other internships is working for a major pharmaceutical company in R&D. This job is more basic science and clinical research, but is looking at similar problems. The pharmaceutical internship would be in a part of the country I've never been to, which could be really cool. What would you do?

If the only plus to the second internship is location, Why not just do the biomechanic internship since you like doing it before. You can always travel to that part of the country when you have some free time

The only plus is not the location, but also the opportunity to do research in an industrial setting as opposed to an academic one, to get more experience, and to be able to continue to explore some of the things I’m interested in from a different perspective (just that perspective is not really engineering).

You’re not going to find the answer to your question on some message board, from people who know close to nothing about you nor your situation… you just need to weigh out the pros and cons of each job and decide which is best for you.

Depends on what you want to do in the future. If you want to work in industry go with number 2, if you want to go into academia go with number 1.
