Donate a Meal

While Thanksgiving is a time for us to give thanks for what we have, it is also a time for us to share with the community.

I wanted to share this link with y’all, as I think it’s a great thing for students to do.

I am not an expert on it, but I think you have to have guest meals to be able to donate a meal. Those upperclassmen with the base 50 plan who don’t have guest meals, I guess would not be able to participate in this program.

I’m going to try to do the link, but if it doesn’t work, as I’m technologically challenged, it’s under Auxiliar Services, Bama Dining, then Donate a Meal.

[Student 2 Student Donation Form](http://bama.ua.edu/~auxsrvcs/bama-dining/student-2-student.html)

I might add also, as we are nearing the end of the semester and there are students out there who are running out of meals, don’t be too proud to go to this site to seek a donation of a meal, either. That’s what it’s there for.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

If you do not want to donate (or cannot because your meal plan does not allow for it) but you have lots of meals left, here’s a suggestion from my HS guidance counselor. When he was in college, he had to use up his meal plan at the end of the semester. Sometimes he could not do dinner, because he was a student athlete and had a game/late practice. So he and his roommate would stop by the dining hall and get a to-go box filled with … desserts. Then, they had their late-night snacks.

Bumping up this thread since people are concerned with too many left over meals at the end of the semester. A nice thing to do at this holiday season.

bump again.

my DD has 5 days left and 50 meals.
