Calm down FUNKMU,I am only stating what George Bush said himself ( about being a C student, fyi his dad was not president at the time he went to Yale)-so he is legacy plus money- awesome for him, wish my daddy went to yale and had an oilwell, then I could actually enjoy senoir year. -all I am trying to do is ascertain the percentage chance of being accepted to an Ivy after all the “hooks” are hooked up.Thank you ChoklitRain for a the mature insightful response. I read Ralph Lauren shelled out 500K to get his daughter in to Emory-and Joan Rivers paid a bundle to get Melissa in to UPENN, and I am sure every school has done the same thing , not only for famous people but also for wealthy people who we don’t ever read about. I guess every school has a price point that will overide it’s moral compass.I am glad this thread has attracted some decent debate.

Yeah I know he wasn’t president when bush jr went to Yale. I was pointing out that his father was influential. Even a C student at Yale is nothing to scoff at. If I sounded agitated then that is certainly not what I meant. The point is, I doubt bush jr could have gone to Yale w.o the influence, but he certainly wasn’t stupid and it does require work even with influence to get into penn.

Most people would agree that it is more difficult to get into HYP than it is to graduate with a C.

This reminds me of family guy when they visit Brown and Peter hands the lady at information booth a 5 dollar bill and says, “we’d like it if Meg got into the university…” hahahaha

Anyways, George Bush was one of the worst students that ever went to Yale, according to his professors. So I wouldn’t say that just because he earned a C meant he didn’t completely fail.

If he completely failed he would’ve been an F student.

A boy from the school at which my friend’s mom works allegedly had his family donate 1 million dollars to Penn last year and got rejected. SO, anything over 1 million should put you in a better position than his.

A kid that one of my neighbors knows was riding on a bus that passed an old girlfriend of a different person on the bus that once worked with the former brother in law of someone who once talked to somebody that reportedly got in when his parents gave $5.00 to Penn. Evidently the whole thing was a misunderstanding and it wasn’t the five dollars that got him admitted.

“Ralph Lauren shelled out 500K to get his daughter in to Emory”…

I just cut up my Ralph Lauren credit card…why would someone pay that kind of $$ to get into Emory???
