Does donations to schools really help???

<p>It depends on the amount of the donation and the size of the school. If you give 100 dollars to a school, they probably won't give you much credit, but thousands of dollars may do you good. At a small LAC, large gifts are much less common that at a school like Harvard or UMich.</p>
<p>Top small LACs have large endowments and anything short of half a million won't help. A million or over at ivies helps.</p>

<p>If your family really wants to make a major gift, have an alum of your chosen school call the development office and make an introduction. Though I suppose a check for a million dollars will be well received no matter how it arrives. Is any school really worth that to you?</p>
