which is better? im currently in donlon and they are giving me a chance to switch but only to lowrise 6. both double. any suggestoins?

my son loved Donlon - just graduated '07 - am talking to him now cuz his little sister is in Dickson...

Thanks. I need to make the decision ASAP, anyboby else has opinions?

stay in donlon if you enjoy having a big social life...

low rise if you want to be a mole :<

Donlon is much better. Donlon is much more social, less isolated and not nearly as ghetto as the Low Rises.

if you want to ever speak to another human being while living in the dorms, i suggest living in donlon. obviously you could get lucky in low rise and end up with good suite-mates, but from experience and first hand observation, the low rises are a ghost town. although, they are pretty quaint. no one will bother you if you're the type that keeps to themselves

thanks everybody. of course, I don't want to isolate myself. My major concern is if It is quiet enough after midnigh to get a good sleep since I heard Donlon is the loudest dorm building.

once you get to college you're going to realize that there is no such thing as a good sleep, unless of course you have a late class the next day.

Definitely stay in Donlon. The noise issue didn't come up for me much last year.

how many share a bathroom in donlon?

There's 3 bathrooms on every floor, one for guys, girls, and a co-ed bathroom. The boys bathrooms have a total of 8 sinks, 4 shower stalls, and 4 toilet stalls.

Donlon 100%

Low rise 6 is/was the ****. Seriously, the most outgoing, social, interesting people came from the low rises. A lot of recruited athletes are placed there, too. They're nice because you share a bathroom with only a few people, and its easy to do whatever you want and not get JAed.

That being said, opt for Donlon if you're an average person because otherwise you'll be miserable because no one will seek you out if you live in a low rise.

I am a below average person in term of social ability(i am shy). but I have problem falling asleep in a background of noise( little bit noise is fine). based what everybody said, I should stay in Donlon. Before I make it final, i need to clarify one more thing: is Donlon really that loud as it was rumored, especially after midnight?

Again, it depends on your floormates. My floor was probably the loudest in the whole dorm, but other floors seemed like ghost towns when I went up to them. If you have a noise issue, just tell your RA and they'll talk to the people personally about keeping it down during evening hours.

And a word of advice based on your username, don't spend too much time in your room watching anime all day. ;) Especially one like Naruto...

TUN, thanks, you gave me a very valuable advice, I do spend lots of time watching anime like Naruto etc. i promise that i will change because i know i will pay the price if i don't. I was assigned to Double room on third floor, Hopefully my floormate are not noise maker.
