So heres the story, Im a smart kid but I slacked around early off in highschool. I do however have a great uprising trend.

I'm an hispanic male who attended a private catholic school

what kind of chances do I have at these:
(listed in order of preference)
Villanova University
Wake Forest
William and Mary (this one is probably the biggest stretch)
College Park
Miami University
Ohio Northern
Loyola College in Maryland
Goucher College

The Virginia school system has some queer obsession with Class Rank and GPA - 90% of students at William and Mary had 3.75 or above as their GPA, so there is an extremely small chance of anyone below that (even instate-ers) getting in w/o a straight A average. Virginia’s state school system is queer about GPA, just like California’s UC system is queer-obsessed with class rank (Even at 2nd tier UC’s, 97%+ were in the top 10% of their class, thus making it almost impossible for any soul to get into a UC w/o being in the top 10%)

“queer obsession”…using that terminology is foreign here in Virginia. What does “queer” really mean? Huh??? Must be a NY thing.

GPA, class rank and SAT scores help determine if a student is geared towards success at that particular college. Chocolate’s GPA is too low. I bet he could do a year at another college, get that GPA up and transfer to William and Mary where the Ultimate Frisbee is rocking and the brains are working.

If it is a school you want to attend, then always apply. You never can tell what an admissions officer is feeling the day they read you app. W&M is much less numbers based, so you really have nothing to loses by applying. Good luck and give it a shot.

You will definitely get into Ohio Northern. I did with a 29 ACT/1300 SAT. I got 11,000 a year, plus I’m going back in January to compete for 24,000 a year.
