I'm a parent of 2 TCNJ students and have been paying them for about 7 years.
It's been a constant struggle to make sense of the whole process. Most of the engineering and some of the math professors speak english as a second language . They seem to take pride in belittling the american students and watching them struggle. The school is very small so you'll have no choice in classes or professors. You'll be in school 5-6 years minimum
and most likely repeat some classes. The head of the civil engineering dept. told his class that were not prepared properly for his class and should expect to fail and repeat the class in the summer (couple of thousand $ more). If he's the head of the dept. I'd like to think students would be prepared if they did prerequisites. One of the admissions people,
L- -W is arrogant and inept. She lost 2 years of my son's credits, somehow. She has too much atitude and too much controll. Go to Rutgers, you'll get done sooner and get same degree with hopefully less arrogance and attitude.

I have a couple of friends in the engineering program and they’re both very satisfied and happy. They both have extremely good GPAs as well. Either way, no engineering program is going to be easy no matter where you go.

And professors who speak English as a second language is far from uncommon, if anything it would be worse at Rutgers. Both my parents had to put up with it when they went to IU.

one of the most important part of teaching. Agreed ? One teacher gave out the wrong final
grade only to change it 3 days later. 70 credits and prerequisite classes were misplaced.
Couldn’t sign up for more classes til they figured out where the classes went. Oops !
Just a warning, if you want to go to TCNJ be ready to jump through hoops and kiss some
imported a##s.

I also have friends in the engineering department who love it, however I have heard some not so nice things about it too. I have spoken to many people who swore up and down that Rutgers was fantastic, but I have also spoken to people who hated every minute at Rutgers. My mother experienced firsthand (at Rutgers) many professors who could not properly speak English. Yes, communication is very important to education, however, in my experience it is not a rampant issue here. There are going to be bad professors and staff everywhere and unfortunately not everyone is going to have an equally enjoyable experience at every college. I am very sorry for the awful ordeal you have gone through and wish you the best of luck in the future.

Our experience has been that the TCNJ administration and staff have a very antithetical attitude towards engineering majors in general and male engineering majors in particular. TCNJ can be accurately described as a female centric school that is only nominally coed in its core focus. And that’s the truth.
