Don't do this!!!!!!

This is advice for all prospective college students and transfer students. DO NOT HIRE ANYONE TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR APPLICATION !!!!!!! I made the mistake of hiring a company called Ivy League Advocate and it was all a waste. The guy who helped me didn't even do anything and the cost was around 4,500 $ for his services. They'll try to trick you by saying that most of their clients have been accepted into big name schools. The truth is if you don't have the grades, no essay or fancy college application can get you in. (Unless you have some sort of connection, or a really really big hook). If you need advice on an essay, ask your English or writing teacher to look it over. Some of the best advice I got from my writing was from teachers. So even if you can afford it, don't do it its a waste. Its actually one of my biggest regrets making my parents spend that money and the school I currently attend, I could have gotten into without their help. After I was accepted to all of my safety schools I asked him which one should I go to. He said let me do more research and I never herd from him again.

I hear adcoms can easily tell if you or a hired guy wrote your essay.

This confuses me. Some people say the essay barely has impact, and others say it can even be more important than ECs.

Unhooked applicants ranked 50/500 with 2100s are getting into HYPS and claim it’s because of their essays…

^Maybe 1-2 people a year get into each of those schools by an essay, but if you don’t have the stats, it is hard to get in unless you are an athlete.
