Don't got no AP credits..hardly

Good lord kid, 614?! Haha, nice going.

(would it be lame to say that I was really excited when I was promoted from new member to junior member? oops, too late, the cat's out of the bag!)

well i used to want to be an architect (hey, I also used to think Cornell was my dream school!), so I really stocked up on all the architecture crap and even went for the independent study with one other girl and we got to survey the school's handicap accessibility and write up a paper with our findings of their various inabilities to comply to regulations; we sent it to the superintendent, but I don't know if it had any affect...regardless I kind of want this to be noted, even though I no longer want to be an architect! haha

i already have an super cool essay topic planned out and it connects back to the reason why I'm interested in Neuro, so I think that package will fit nicely. i was reading on another thread that Yale selects 1/3 of its applicants for admission based on passion...so I really hope I can get in on that note especially if I do AP Psych AND Neuro.

I have some misgivings about it though...anyone willing to hear that rant? Or would someone else like to dish out their uncertainties? I feel like I've over-monopolized this thread ;)

Ummmm well. I like to ask questions and when I first joined, I just finished my OCt SAT so I was really really curious and whatnot. hah.

Haha that sounds really interesting though!
Wow! You already have your essay topic picked out? I'm still brainstorming..whenever I get ideas I'll write it down but I don't really have one that's like jumping out at me you know?

I think the strongest part of my application will be teacher recs and my music ECs

But you never know with Yale..

I'll hear the rant haha goodness knows I rant enough on CC!

Haha sweet!

Okay, so basically I really want to take both Psych and Euro next year, but you can only take one (well, I mean I guess you could take both, but then you'd have electives..)

Psych is:
HELLA interesting
The easier of the social studies APs (there's Euro, Gov, and Psych)
BUT it's also something that I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up taking in college anyways, and while it would be nice to skip the intro class (because that's what APs do for you at Yale) it's not like a rare experience to take it in high school

Euro is:
Also hella interesting because I love history, but it's also THE hardest social studies AP and it's taught my my good friend's mom and she's a very hard ass person (phenom of a teacher, but still..) and so I can guarantee you I'd get no favors as a long time family friend, it'd be the opposite, she'd be harder on me. HOWEVER, I can 99% guarantee that I wouldn't go for an Euro type classes in college so it's something I can really only take next year in order to have that experience

Ergo, I'm stuck...which to take...which to take..

Psych!

If you get to skip the intro class and take a higher level Psych class in college, it might been even more interesting! Or you can still take the intro class..I mean they're not gonna force you to skip it are they? You'll probably learn slightly different things there..

I'm in Euro right now and it's a really interesting subject...the beginning wasn't as exciting (Ancient/Medieval stuff) but just my opinion
The material, however, is much harder than US History...not as familiar so it's gonna be much harder than Psych. You're not missing out on much if you dont take it haha..except for the teacher

Personally, I'd take Psych because it's easier (you want that extra time for your apps and to enjoy senior year) and because it's what you're interested in taking in college. It'd be nice to go to college with at least SOME knowledge of the subject

This is sort of where I'm leaning, I just don't want to cop out :/

Anyone else have anything to say, I'd love to get more people's opinions?
