Don't have a portfolio for architecture?

Do I still have a chance at Cornell -Arch Major or at any other college?
ACT 34
SAT 2200
GPA wt: 4.2
excellent recs
awesome extracirriculars..

Cornell? Nope. AAP Admissions are pretty much based on your portfolio.

Carnegie is portfolio optional iirc, but their deadline’s passed.

Washington University in St. Louis’ portfolio is optional, plus your stats are definitely at their caliber. They have a wonderful M.Arch program if that is what you are looking for.

Penn State and Virginia Tech are both good schools for the 5-yr BARCH and do not require a portfolio. I think you would get into both based on your stats.

For fall 2010?

for Fall 2011…

I would suggest creating a portfolio now, then.

There are a number of schools that do not require any architecture portfolio. I was accepted into every school I applied to (four different schools of architecture) without a portfolio, and now am a freshman with full tuition and room and board paid for with similar SAT’s and GPA as you. Certain schools require portfolios and others do not, so I would suggest looking at the websites of schools you are applying to in order to see if that school requires a portfolio. Many architecture schools pride themselves in being able to teach students who have little computer skills and drawing skills, but have a strong work ethic and a willing to learn.
