Don't know my real chances

Hello everyone

I want to go to the 12th grade in boarding school. My main goals are Andover and Exeter, but I have some problems with understanding my real chances to get there. I have 97% on PSAT , but my Toefl is 97/120, which confused me… I don’t know what to do, because Exeter’s minimum is 100. What do you think I should do in this case?
In addition, I want to give some additional information about me. I’m studying in Russia in special physics class, I’m playing chess for more than 10 years, mainly because I love this game, also I am practicing combat sambo and volleyball. I have all A’s at my school.
What is my real chances to get in theese schools ? Will I have chances for financial aid? Do you have some advices?)
All your answers will be very helpful to me.

Well, if Exeter has a hard minimum of 100 on the TOEFL, you’ll get automatically rejected for being under. Call them up and ask if you could get in with a 97, although even if they’d be willing to consider you, the rest of your application would have to be really strong to make up for the low test score.

Financial aid for international students at American universities is always very limited, and I doubt the situation is much better at the prep school level.

Thank you for your response.
So, the best idea is to write to them asking for making an exception? It is a possible option in US prep schools?

Don’t ask them for an “exception.” Just make a friendly call asking if, on the off chance someone applied with a TOEFL score just under 100, if they could still be considered.

Somehow failed to get in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 prep schools
Hope that my experience will be helpful to you
