Don't Know What To Do, Need Help

I applied to USC, UCLA and UC Berkeley as a Computer Science Major. I didn’t get into USC, got wait listed at UCLA and got accepted at Berkeley. However, I am not keen on going to Berkeley right now because of personal/family issues. I have three burning questions that I must ask:

  1. If I reject Berkeley’s offer of admittance, but apply again as a CS/CSE transfer student from a community college, will Berkeley “remember” me and deny me because I denied them before?
  2. How common is it to get off UCLA’s wait list? They are top priority school.
  3. How difficult is it to get accepted to UCLA/USC/Berkeley as a transfer student in CS/CSE? Can anybody speak from personal experience?

My Stats:
-1490 SAT (770 math, 720 english) (took it four times though, not sure if hurts my chances)
-4.095 GPA at end of junior year
-4.25 UC GPA

Why are you not keen on going to Berkeley right now but willing to go to LA? Getting in for CS is a big deal! Contact them to see if you can defer your enrollment instead of rejecting it outright.

I wouldn’t bank on getting off of LA’s waitlist. Chances are probably as slim as admission. Transferring might be an option, but the people I know have only done it after 2 years of CC.
