Okay so I took a practice Test and got a 1700. I went from a 1500 to a 1700 after studying writing and math. I got a 500 on each section on the real sat. My scores ended up being 620M , 520CR, and 560W. I have one month left before my final SAT and I really want a 2000+ how can I get there? What should I do, what books, etc etc. Please help and give hope.

A 1500 to a 2000+ in one month is quite an impressive leap.

You’re most probably in high school, and you probably already know the curriculum in order to consistently score 800’s on math. What you want to do is brush up on topics that you’re struggling with/forgot/consistently miss, and practice in order to improve your speed.

For writing, I always found that reviewing the commonly-tested grammar rules helps a lot. It basically improved my score from mid-500’s to 660 with 15 minutes of review.

The reading section has its own strategies for eliminating choices and picking the “best” answer choice. I suggest Princeton Review’s “Cracking the SAT” for more detailed explanation. Then there’s the vocab…read more literature? Study roots? Flash cards?

Well now its 1700 to 2000 I will take it again one more time in Dec if things dont work out. But will it be possible now?

i think it is possible. Just keep practicing math and make sure you check your work for careless errors. If you honestly avoid careless mistakes, you have a great chance of scoring 730+ in math. For writing learn the rules and make sure you can logically reason why an answer is correct or not (eg subj. verb agreement, misplaced modifier etc). if you can pinpoint why the answer is wrong/correct you will tend to get more points in writing. Silverturtle’s guide is very good and thorough for writing and if you follow it I think you can most likely go beyond if not approach 700 in writing (assuming essay >=9). For reading you can definitely improve from a 520 to high 600’s in a short amount of time. For CR, you mainly have to practice with CB passages and try to reason why the answer is the best, play devil’s advocate. When looking at an explanation for PBR make SURE you understand why the right answer is the right answer. Vocab is also key to doing well; get direct hit’s and study up vocab. Getting past 700’s in CR may arguably require more time but is also possible.Do this and I think you can increase 300. Getting a 2000 I feel is not so difficult with enough practice. Make sure you take practice tests and understand your mistakes do this diligently for the next month and you probably can even surpass 2000. Good Luck!

but testive only have math problems. that sucks
