Hi all...i'm sitting at a 3.0 GPA atm; however, i only have 24 units. Therefore, i do not qualify for TAG. I'm taking 18 units in the fall and spring, which bring my total units to 60. I want to transfer Fall 2011, but is it even possible to get into a UC without TAG nowadays? I'm looking at UCSD, UCI, and UCSB in that order. I worked out my GPA and it should be around a 3.2 by the end of Fall 2010. My major is Political Science; will i be able to get into these school with a 3.2 GPA WITHOUT TAG? My main concern right now is being able to get into a UC for Fall 2011, or is my best option now to aim for CSU?

Edit: i will have all the IGETC, and all my major prequ classes done... but i won't be able to sign TAG

You should be able to get into one of those schools. However, if you only have 24 units, I would think that you could conceivably get above a cumulative 3.2 GPA.

If you were to get a 3.7+ GPA for the next 2 semesters, your chances of getting into UCI, UCSB, and UCSD will be much greater. It’s not always about your GPA, but also your grade trend.

You can still get into those schools without TAG, I helped someone get into those schools and UCD without TAG around 3.0-3.3 GPA . Just make sure you have good grades and it is important to get As during your fall semester when you apply because they will ask for a grade update during Jan. and getting all As will boost your GPA when you do your grade update.
