Has anybody around had success with the strategy where you dont read the passage at all beforehand, and simply jump along reading the line refs... then maybe read the gaps for the general passage questions. I know people who do this, but does it allow for the 800...it seems like a really fast technique for getting through those long passages, especially if one can get it down right. However it seems that it would be harder to find the right answer for each question because of unfamiliarity with the passage.

doesn’t matter if other people have had success with it – it matters if you have success with it.

Yeah, I agree. All these “tricks” people use may work for them, but when I use them, I usually get confused and do more poorly than I would with just reading through and answering questions. The only technique I do use is for dual passages where I’ll read the first passage then answer all the questions for it, then do the same for the second passage, then answer the questions relating to both. Everything else just messes with my focus. However, that’s just me. Do whatever works for you; experiment with different techniques and find whatever helps you perform best.
