Hello,
I'm a sophmore in highschool and planning to major something toward the business area in college.
Since the summer is approaching, I'm trying to make the best use out of it. I've googled business summer programs, seminars, camps, internships..ect, but can't seem to find any interesting or local.
Does anyone in here know a business program their son/daughter went to and enjoyed it?

Since I am also inerested in Chemistry, any chemistry programs, camps, lab internships will do too.

In my state (Pennsylvania), there are several "Governor's School" programs in the summer for 10th and 11th graders (mainly the latter). They are free, and most of them are quite good, so they are generally pretty competitive to get into. At least one of them is business-related (International Entrepreneurship, and Lehigh University). The application deadlines for this summer passed a long time ago.

Anyway, lots of states have similar programs (and the application deadlines for all of them were probably in January or February). You should check out what your state has, if not for this summer then for next.

Also, yes, with business you can learn by doing.

Actually, the e-bay idea is a good one. We have e-bay classes at our library quite often and I often here computer semi-literate patrons ask the teacher if he would just list their items for them.

cornell summer college offers a chem class for non-majors, which is great for HS kids since it is devoid of premeds and future engineers. It's pricey, but excellent -- usually a very small class.

I'm quite serious about the EBay business. The business my husband and I run--now employing 12 people at good wages--was started by his college roommate's sons when they were in middle school. On EBay, with $500 from Dad.
