Anyone else here that doesn't want to go back to college? I'm a soon-to-be sophomore, and I do not want to go back for the life of me. Or I guess, anyone who didn't want to go back? - since most schools started already, I believe.

i feel like such a kid. but i suppose i can't help how i feel.

RADcliffe, maybe you can take a year off? Your gut feeling might be trying to tell you something you should listen to. Maybe you're in the wrong major, or at the wrong school, just burned out on school, or hanging out with the wrong people for you. Why force things and just go thru something you hate? If you take a year off you'll have a chance to recharge your batteries and make some changes. Most colleges have a program where you can take a leave of absence and are guaranteed a spot when you're ready to return. Its worth looking into for someone who writes "I do not want to go back for the life of me" There's no shame in taking a year off; 10 years from now nobody's going to know or care whether you finished college at 22 or 23.

I never really wanted to go back to school but my goals require me to do so. I have a cousin who is leaving college indefinitely. She was working full-time as an assistant manager at some retail store and doing school full-time as well. I don't keep in touch with her much but she justs wants a different situation. She picked a major that she didn't like and moved out of her parents' house because her father doesn't approve of anything that she does. I think she just wants to have a regular job and hang out with her friends.
I guess it's good that she at least has a job. I have another cousin is 18 and never had a job and doesn't have any concrete plans of getting one or going to college.

i was in a very homesick-mood when I posted that. I want to go back, but then I don't. But then, it's the same with my friends too..so I don't think I need to take a year off. Thanks though
