people talk about their music taste as if their so sophisticated and unique? especially those indie/alternative tards who are like "yeah dude i LOVE streetlight manifesto, they are so UNDERGROUND."

Yup.
Any of you guys still listen to the Backstreet Boys?

Lawl, let’s hope SLightManifesto sees this thread.

^Um, no.

Story of my life… Except where I’m from people talk about mainstream like they’re better than you because they can turn on the radio. I get called a hipster whenever anyone goes through my ipod -_- I actually love that label, but I’m truly not, I just listen to other music. I hope that didn’t sound like what you said you hated lol.

NO. IT’S THOSE PEOPLE WHO SAY
“I DON’T LISTEN TO THAT BECAUSE EVERYONE LISTENS TO THAT.”
LIKE… WHO IS YOU?!

Or when people get upset when someone underground becomes famous/discovered/given a deal/mainstream. Get cho hip$tah azsz outta hurrr

God I so agree. And the people that are always saying " I KNEW THAT SONG BEFORE ANYONE ELSE" who gives a damn…

I force people to listen to what I like so I have more people liking my musical tastes, haha

^Ferizzleizzle, man. Like, people must live in a small circle if they think heard a song before anyone else ( aka a group of 3 friends LOL.) I only give you props if you personally knew the artist before they got famou$h and actually communicate with them now.

Oh and btw I hate mainstream music lol. But what I hate more are people who listen to something that’s hardly underground and take pride in it.

@crazypluto I’m just like you on that one.

^,^^So people should only take pride in what music they listen to if it’s obscure?

Yeaaah Wth, I started listening to Florence and the machine about a year and a half ago & I still love her despite her being on various commercials & my friend was like ehh I don’t even like her anymore she has become so mainstream;

Like whAaat, how can you say that, if the music is the same as it was a year ago -____-, like does everything you listen to have to be the ultimate unknown stuff -.-

@harryjones I just don’t think people should be so bold as to diminish someone for their music taste. That being said, there are so many knuckleheaded people out there that give all types of music a negative stereotype.

The first rule of being a hipster is that you are not a hipster. C’mon bro.

I secretly love hipster music, but all the hipster music I know is considered mainstream by true hipsters. The music I openly like isn’t mainstream in that it isn’t top 40 stuff, but it’s mostly stuff my friends have heard of.

ahaha. I laughed out loud at the last part. kudos.

@Nulli I totally know that… I’m not a hipster… And I don’t mean that in the I’m actually a hipster so I’m too cool to say I am one sense… I’m actually not. I go to a super ghetto school so everyone is always like “Why don’t you go grab a guitar and play your hipster music outside.” Seriously though you get called a hipster if you listen to Owl City at my school… ***?

@MarinebioSax thanks I have a feeling a lot of people can relate to that statement…

And the people that are always saying " I KNEW THAT SONG BEFORE ANYONE ELSE" who gives a damn…

^ I don’t actually say this but I’ve experienced this feeling so many times @_@ i’m being elitist but i feel like certain people don’t appreciate the songs i find first the way they should (with other people i try to accept it, but just those certain people drive me insane)

I was a hipster before it was cool.
