<p>Plan on majoring in Political Science with a possible History minor. </p>

<p>GPA: 3.74 Unweighted 3.94 Weighted</p>

<p>Rank: 69/490 Unweighted 45/490 weighted</p>

<p>AP/Honors: English 9,10,11 Honors, AP US History, Biology Honors, Chemistry Honors, Took Algebra 2 as a freshman. Going to take AP Literature, AP Government, and AP Statistics senior year. </p>

<p>Got a 4 on AP US History Exam. </p>

<p>ACT: 34</p>

<p>EC's: 3 years football
2 years tennis
3 years marching band
2 years concert band
1 year Business Professionals of America
3 years NHS
Boy Scouts (not an Eagle yet, but willing to get my Eagle if I need it for Duke)
2 years of Model United Nations
Church Group Leader for 1 year
Newspaper (sports editor).
Friendship Club ("regular" students are paired with special needs students to be "buddies")</p>

<p>Plan on doing eithe Army or Navy or Air Force ROTC</p>

<p>Does doing ROTC help your admissions chances?</p>

<p>It makes sense, but I was thinking that ROTC had nothing to do with admissions, maybe it looks good on the application that I’m planning on doing it.</p>

<p>if Duke is my first choice, would you guys recommend either…</p>

<p>applying ED with my current grades and ECs or…</p>

<p>Applying RD after getting my GPA up to a 3.76 and also having my Eagle Scout.</p>
