Door Decorating

How on earth should I decorate my dorm room door when I move in the 13th? I have never decorated a door before... any ideas?

Make a large collage on a poster made of your favorite things. Um, get a white board as well?

You should paint the whole thing green (if you can’t paint it, then just get a green lightbulb). Then hang up horse posters. Then find/make a shelf and put a ton of beanie babies or figurines on it. Then line a large board (and any other objects with sides, like your mirror and closet) with feather boas. Then find some harry potter stuff and put it all over the place. If you live anywhere near the south, you must also have some sort of NASCAR thing somewhere in your room–maybe put a Dale Jr poster on your ceiling above your bed. Oh and get some shag rugs. Heck yeah, most awesome dorm room I’ve ever seen! Duh.

white board! and pictures of you & the roomie :)

Ermm I didn’t know that doors are usually extensively decorated? Doesn’t your RA take care of it?

Get tons of butcher/construction paper and cut out the shape of a large dino! Find white paper and make a speech bubble where you can write you and your roomie’s name. Or get a bunch of starburst wrappers and cover the door with them.

I dunno, be random! :)

Oh haha I thought it said dorm decorating, so I mentioned the ugliest one I have ever seen. Well, the ugly room did have a feather boa around it cringe

Why don’t you just wait until you move in and see what other people do? You will have many more important things to worry about when you get there.

I’m not very creative, but I think my roommate and I will def have our name on it (what are the chances we’d have the same name?). Maybe some pictures of us on an awesome looking background. Dorm door decorating isn’t a huge deal at the school I’ll be at. Probably half of them are not decorated (as in they might have a piece of paper stuck on there and maybe a picture).

Our RA put or names on it. Roommate put a white board. By the end of the year it was covered to the max. Friends would take things on it. I drew some pictures and put them up too.

Whatever you do, make sure you don’t cover it with hundreds of post-its. I did that, and while it was pretty awesome (every post-it had a saying/joke/picture in it), they flew off all the time, and I had to keep picking them up. A large slab of laminate would’ve been handy.

a whiteboard is definitely a good idea. I’m also bringing a little door hanger, one side says “come in,” the other side says “go away.” yay. I also will probably go overboard with decorating it with stickers. I luuuurrrveee stickers. But decorate it however you want, something that suits you.
