How are dorms assigned to incoming freshmen? Do those who apply for housing early have first choice or are dorms randomly assigned?

There is a housing application to fill out after you pay your housing deposit. Do your research about potential dorms. The main difference for freshman is East Campus vs West Campus. You can choose 5 favorite dorms and hopefully you will get one of them. I’m not sure, but it may help to pay your deposit early. My D did and got her 3rd choice. Yes, you can choose your roommate.
