Dorm comfort

so i know that the freshman dorms are mainly triples, but i wanted to know if it is comfortable with it that way...is there enough space to put all ur clothes and other belongings but not feel claustrophobic or have it be cluttered. i'm not anal but i dont want my room to look like a closet and everyone's clothes in the same pile. is there adequate closet and/or drawer to accommodate 3 people?

I visited in the summer and they looked spacious enough. Anyway, you'll probably only be in your room to sleep or do a little late night hw/fun I'm guessing.

Of course there is! We're all surviving. If you're smart you get a lot more space than there looks like.

Yes, there's adequate space. Although if you're in a hall you might want to avoid the wardrobes and aim for the actual closets since they give more space. At least, in my opinion they do. =D

Pink' room was messier than mine when I saw it, that is saying a lot.

Really? Is that saying a lot? How much? Like, THIS much or this much? Hmm, COW?

Tip: Try to be the first among your roommates to move-in. That way, you can already claim your cabinet and closet space. Email your rommates and ask when their move-in times are. Also, you can call UCLA Housing or ORL and inquire about being a move-in assistant; if you get to be a move-in assistant, you'll be moving in days before your roommates.

or you can just vomit on anything you want to keep...

mme, the former.

or just plan ahead, my roommates and i already decided who will get which bed and which closet two weeks before move in, saved us a lot of trouble seeing a lot of people have arguements over which stuff they claimed when they came first and blah blah... also if you want space go to plaza, in my opinion a lot bigger than the rooms at dykstra I saw...

yea, i was not planning on spending that much time in the dorm, just sleeping really lol. but thanks i just wanted to know if it there is enough space to bring more than 10 outfits for the year. thanks again!

what about bathrooms? communal or private(like you share only in the triple)?

its communal to the whole floor

for res halls, private or shared between 2 rooms for plazas

omg, so what do you have to do to get a private one?!

You check a box.

[No, really. On the housing application, you check your preferences for plazas and/or suites.]

LUCK! lol seriously, if you get lucky and get into sunset village or de neve we got private bathrooms, if you get into rieber terrance or vista or hedrick summit you'll get shared...

in a triple room in de neve, here is a list of provided furniture:

-bunk bed, with 2 wooden drawers underneath
-loft bed over desk and wardrobe (i don't recall dimensions, but it is somewhat smaller than the closet space, so don't pick it if you have muchos clothing)
-2 dressers with three drawers each
-wall closet split into two sections

keep in mind that sometimes the dresser has to end up in the closet for space. also, we had a fridge, which also lived in the closet.

sunset village (delta terrace) doesn't need to put either of these items in the closet, but the closets are somewhat smaller. still, ever closet has a rod and shelf above it.

liyana179, I lived in a triple last year and I can't seem to recall if it was a memorable experience - enough to call it comfortable. Will you please share your last year's story? I want to hear every single detail. I heard you had a pleasant, typical triple experience and that you would've recommended your red-lipsticked roommate to anyone in the future since it was just . . . such a fantastic experience! Please share! :)

Woo! Triples! Woo! :)

oh the SARCASM!!! wow em.

no, i never intend to relive my frosh dorm experience...

not unless you want me to recount yours ;)
