Dorm Decision

I'm going to be a freshman in the fall. I'm planning to live on Campus. I'm looking for a building thats fairly quiet during the week and has activity on the weekend. Anyone have any suggestions??

I am also in this situation- All I heard is to stay away from Sylvan!

Are the new suites open to freshmen? Hmmm I wonder.

i dunno. i heard orchird hill can be quiet.

i'm definatly requesting southwest. are you gonna do that epoch thing or special interest living ?

No I don't think I am. Are you?

i dunno. my mom said theyre good to meet people but im not sure if i want to do one.

Southwest does sound best. I hope they hurry up and receive my check so I can sign up for orientation!

i know i will be living in southwest cuz im doin biotap

when do you sign up for housing? on the orientation weekend? do u always get ur first choice?

^ same question! I have not requested for housing yet. I'm wondering how are the toilets like..how are they shared..particularly the northeast area?

^bathroom....i meant

What orientation is everyone thinking? I'm pretty sure on June 25-27

im thinking july 9th-11th bc i have grad parties all through the end of june... still no answer about how you get assigned houesing?? (i sent my check today!!!)

I will be a sophmore in engineering in 2006/2007.
I spent my first year in the Southwest area. I was in an Epoch dorm.
The dorm had a friendly atmosphere. Everyone were freshman, so we were all on the same page moving in. Every weekend (starting on thursday) parties would begin. The southwest epoch freshman party hard, a lot.
The epoch dorms never got as quiet as I'd like for studying, but i was still able to get my work done between the libraries and the lounges.
The bottom line is that these dorms party a lot. If your into that, then great!
