we're talking about the same french connection pman. I just meant I loved it. f-c-u-k are the initials i think you typed that CC censored. I'm thinking that on McCormick Road, there may be less space. Honestly, my roommate has no idea what she's getting into. ;)

I'm leaving 90% of my sweaters at home since I'm about 2 hours. I'm swapping out my clothing come end of October or November. Or when I run out of new things to wear. I think I may do laundry once this semester for pants.

canuck, there's a Lululemon in Tyson's and there's a store that sells them in C-ville. (let's just say I was exploring the town during Orientation.) Lemme go find the shopping bag and I'll edit later. But good thing you mentioned that, because I needed to add another light jacket. And check out J Crew. Really nice stuff. For good shopping, Tyson's isn't the only one but check out Leesburg Outlets. The outlets are like Lacoste, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Polo, Coach, J Crew , Tommy Hilfiger, etc. They're really nice. Fair Oaks is nice too but I think you can find most of the stores in Tyson's. BUT there are two Macys (yes, two!) in Fair Oaks so my mom loves going there. It's just Tyson's has 2 malls in the space of 5 miles. So, really it's hard to beat.

Last minute packing! I'm almost done. (Not really.)

canuck, the c-ville store is called Bikram's Boutique. I don't remember seeing men's clothing, but I wasn't looking for it.

Thanks db, I called and they don't carry men's...too bad, but there are 3 stores at home, so I'm not too worried. There's plenty of J Crew in my closet too.

My mom's company has an office in Fairfax, so she's there every now and again for business. Maybe she'll come pick me up so I can do some shopping in NOVA :)

I almost forgot, there's also plenty of room in the closet for my newest purchase: an orange and navy bow tie.

Mmm I <3 my walk in closet. Though it's full of boxes right now, clothes on the floor or in a duffle, and just crap everywhere in general.
I wear a lot of AE, but I don't do their graphic tees or anything. I like their stuff because it's comfortable and most stuff I can dress up or down. I love their jeans too. They're guys stuff is nice too, but I don't like the writing that dominates most guy stuff.

PS- If you ever find yourself on 15th St, it is a ONE WAY street. My window faces up 15th and I can't tell you how sick I am of people laying on the horn because someone's being dumb. Just FYI

Tyson's is the best mall Virginia has to offer. It is insane. Too bad I'm not affluent enough to shop at Tysons 2 though.
I like Fair Oaks as well, it has essentially all of the stores I go to at Tysons, minus Guess, North Face.

I'm an Express, AE, Banana Republic, Hollister/A&F fan myself. I swear, AE has had the best clearance sales throughout this summer, it's almost ridiculous. As for what I'm bringing,
20 Polos, 1 rainjacket, 4 track jackets, 1 blazer, 1 suit, 2 khaki's, 4 khaki shorts, 4 jeans, 3 plaid shorts, 10 graphic tees, 1 dress shoe, 2 boat shoes, 1 all-stars, 3 sneakers, 3 dress shirts, 6 casual oxford shirts, and I think that's it. (2 New Orleans Saints jersey's lol)

patriots7, WHAT?????????? never heard of j. crew? db123+j. crew=love.

the Tysons galleria is INSANE. I love it. that's the only mall I will dress up to go to. Cartier, Chanel, Versace, droooooooooooooooooooooooooooool. Too bad I don't have enough to shop at those stores. :( But I'll put on the most expensive stuff I have so they think I'm a serious customer haha which really isn't enough anyway. But I think the woman at Versace is on to me. Last time I went she was like just browsing again?

But usually, I pick the regular Tyson's just because there is SO much variety and I can afford some of it. Girls, check out White House/Black Market. I bought my graduation dress there and ended up picking up some more items because they were so amazing.

Lol, sorry.
But it's really funny, my girlfriend is the exact same way. Everytime we go to Tysons, she makes sure we don our best outfits, she wears all of her pearls, and I have to drive my dad's Q7 (because my Highlander is not 'Tysons' worthy). Then we spend about 6 hours at the Galleria, and end up spending nothing.
She literally starts tearing up when I finally drag her out of Saks 5th, Neiman Marcus, and Marciano.
Then we go back to reality (and our incredibly small budgets), Tysons 1. Haha.

Pmanliu, uh ... where do I send the rebate exactly? The thing won't tell me, so I would buy it if it didn't give me a 404 when I clicked on the "rebate info" link.

patriots haha, the q7 compared to your highlander part cracked me up. how is that car by the way? i was interested in it for awhile but then choose something else over it b/c i was concerned about its reliability since it just came out.

The Q7 is a really nice SUV. We had an X5 before it, and it's incredible the difference between the two (Haven't gotten a chance to drive in the new X5's though). As for reliability though, we've had to take it in to Audi, got the transmission and brake pads replaced, and we've only had the car for about 10 months. Customer service was pretty good.
It's stunning though, inside and out. Only thing though, is it's really heavy, and you are definitely aware of it.

Much better than my Highlander though. (Although they've agreed to get me the newly redesigned one next year, I pushed hard for a used X5 or VW Toureg lol)

ahh patriots7, i am actually regretting not getting the audi even though i would have lost a lot more than what i paid for my current car. I drive an fx35 (infiniti) and even though it is the last year of the 1st generation fx's, there has been a lot of minor but annoying problems from fading door trim (after 6 months of owning the car...) to seat getting jammed when it tries to re-adjust as well as some other minor but stupid rattling problems that the dealer is hassling me about. Oh i forgot to mention, my fuel tank fuel flap thingy malfunctioned during the peak of gas prices so i wasnt able to fill up at all when gas was going at ~4.50 gallon. I am not sure if i can even bring it up to uva next year because of the lack of cargo space. I just finished packing my mom's toyota sienna and i had to fold down the 3rd row and cram everything just to fit all my luggage. looks like im going to be a man with a van next year, or soccer dad x]

shoebox, VEE-DUB! How do you manage to fit everything in your jetta? Btw jettas has so much potential for modifications :D. However since your a girl, im assuming your not really into that hehe

My mom has a Rav4 so we brought down a bunch of my stuff last weekend and I semi-packed my car with stuff. Then when I came down for good on Thursday, I brought down much more stuff. And, lastly, my dad's coming down today with his Expedition bringing a mini-fridge and a TV for my room. He's just coming down to see the place really, his trip is kind of un-needed because I'm going home Monday for the day for my mom's bday, but whatever. So, having Mr. Jetta isn't a big deal in terms of college. And, I'd love to do stuff to the car, but parents think it's a waste of money/time. That, and I have the sports edition so I have a huge engine that gets the job done well, and in a fun way.

haha, the engine in my old car gets about 23 mpgs at about 90 horsepower. Oh and the car weighs like 4k lbs. Its quite a feat.

We are going to take 2 cars up so we can fit everything and just in case mine breaks down somewhere on the way. Though it shouldn't, its in great condition.

Yeah mine only has about 70K, which over 10 years, is nothing, and only 12K has been put on in the last 4 years. But the muffler or something (we're not quite sure what it is) makes a bad noise in the cold and when I have a lot of stuff or people in my car, so it keeps making me nervous that I'll break down on the side of 29. But, the dad says it's not gonna break down, and plus, I'm no more than an hour from either home or school, so I'm not worried.
Oh, if you guys are thinking about bringing cars down second year and stuff, look into getting AAA. It's a roadside assistance program that would save your butt if you ever ran out of gas, broke down, locked keys in your car, etc. Also, if a friend does any of the above and you're with them, you can have AAA come help them out as well. AAA gives out free maps and discounts to stuff for members as well.

uhh patriots7, your highlander is so Tysons 2 worthy. Just pretend it's hybrid. I drive a Prius. Soo, I like to think I'm environmentally chic haha. I asked my dad if I could take the Lexus one time to the mall, and he was like uh no. He had a midlife crisis a year ago and so he bought the SC. sweet car. sweet sweet car.
