I've seen a lot of posts lately on which dorm is better, and why. The fact is by the time you complete frosh-o (orientation weekend) you will believe your dorm, whichever it is, is the best dorm on campus.

All the dorms are unique, and have advantages and disadvantages. For example, the guys in Carroll have a very tight bond and love living there, even though they're across the lake. Because the dorms are randomly assigned, you have a cross section of the population in every one, and it makes the populations of every dorm almost identical (until, in the case of Zahm, they morph into something else haha).

Rest assured you will be very satisfied with your dorm. Almost everyone who comes in as a freshman stays in the same dorm the entire time they're on campus, which is often all four years. The competition between dorms is playful but a little fierce, and you will become extremely loyal to yours, no matter it's amenities. It becomes all about the people in them, not the buildings.
