@azurite: Pierce Hall according to the Davis Wiki.

My daughter got Tercero her least favorite. She wanted cuarto. She and two other girls decided to be roommates. I guess tthere aren’t a lot of triples. She has made a request for a change already as did both of the other girls. How likely is she to get a change? Is there anything she should do or say to increase the liklihood of getting moved. One of the reasons she does not want Tercero is that she is a recruited athlete and Tercero is way on the other side of campus from the athletic field. The two other roommates are also on the same team. Suggestions anyone?

I don’t believe Cuarto has any triples in it. That’s probably why your daughters were placed in Tercero as Tercero South and Segundo North are the only places that have triples. I would recommend staying in these locations since Cuarto’s main Dinning Commons closed down this year for renovations and they would have to walk far for their main meals. Also, being in a traditional dorm rocks as they are able to meet people easier than those in suities. If your daughters still want Cuarto, call Student Housing.

Woah wait. Doesn’t Cuarto still have the Castillian Dining Commons open? That’s a 2 minute walk and arguably the best DC (even if the smallest). And triples are cramped while Cuarto is super spacious.

I find most people will begin to love where they live and will start defending it even after the first week.

Most people will get used to where they have been placed in. I will admit that even though I got a nice dorm (Ryerson) back when I was a first year, I still felt a bit envious towards the people who had Segundo North / Tercero South. It’s just something you’ll have to get over.

That being said, welcome to Student Housing! If you haven’t read the other housing thread, I am one of the few Residential Computer Assistants here to serve you for the time you are with student housing :). If you have any questions related to computers whether it’s looking to buy a new one, setting it up so you can access the internet from your dorm room, computer lab questions, or even peripherals setup, please don’t hesitate to ask! I look forward to meeting with you all and will be glad to serve any of your computer-related issues. :)

Does anyone know if Segundo Regan rooms open off an interior hallway or exterior (like Leach)?

Our D is there presently for pre-season (the whole team is there) – it has interior hallways and regular size beds. the rooms seemed kind of small to me compared to the ones we saw in Tercero.

Thanks CA Parent! D stayed in a Tercero triple when we were there for orientation but will be in a double for freshman year. It seemed a little crowded for 3 so I’m hoping Regan will be better…? Anyway, she’ll have to make do with it for the year!

Which regan buiding is your D in? I was in Rienda last year and the building was awesome. Lots of fun. I had the luck of getting the biggest room in the dorm lol. So yea it was awesome

I’m trying to figure out why I got placed in Emerson as a transfer student. I thought we were being housed in Castilian.

xAT - D is in Sereno in the performing arts theme. Hoping the theme is as active as she’s hoping it will be!

Do they have activities set up for move in day for students or should we plan to take D out to dinner or something?
