Who does Learning Communities? Are they a good idea?

What kind of people do you meet at Collins? I'm really interested in it right now- what is it like? Are the people like scarily alternative, or are they normal-ish? I like the whole alternative thing, im just worried about it being too much so.

I applied for a LC. They differ based on interest. If you find something that matches what you like, and you think it'd be a great idea, then you would do something like that. I am really into Sports, and couldn't believe there was a Sport and Society LC, so I applied to that.

Collins from what i've heard is a bunch of alternative hippies. Don't know if that's you or not, but the Bob Marley-listening-tye dye-wearing people. If that's you, then definitely do it! It's people with a common interest, you won't be with someone who's into engineering then who you share no traits with.

i wouldnt really call it bob marley type people....kind of quirky...hipster...vegan...etc. its a gorgeous dorm, though, and superb location. and yes, i know that vegan isnt really a good way to describe someone.
