Dorm life question

What would you recommend for transfer students trying to dorm...clark kerr or the wada transfer apts, or something else?

also, are there any halls that offer gym...as in a gym where one can pump iron... Does the school offer this type of gym? Is it included in the bill for housing? thanks.

cal's gym is called the rsf and it costs 10$/sem. and it is a really nice, bug gym with weights, indoor basketball courts, pool, racketball courts, a track, tennis courts, etc.

clark kerr dorm has their own gym but it is really small and crappy....but its free

can u bench press in that clark kerr gym? lol

no there arent free weights

are there any transfers in clark kerr? will i be roomed with a transfer? also, is the food any good at ckc? where is the best food? and lastly, how far is the real gym from ckc?

The RSF is on Bancroft between Ellsworth and Dana. Clark Kerr is at Dwight and Warring. The two places are actually about 1 mile apart from each other.

wow really? a mile...it does not seem that far...weird how walking around berkeley desensitizes you to distance.

is hearst gym any good?

hearst gym is about a 10 min walk to clark kerr and it is not a full-scale gym....it has a pool, indoor volleyball courts, and a few large rooms where there are aerobics, yoga, and other kinds of classes

There's no free weights? What the hell?

there's free weights @ the RSF, but they don't let you do olympic lifts.

whats an olympic lift?

power clean, snatch, clean and jerk...lifts that are free from the rack, involving explosion from the ground....stuff u do to train for explosive sports (football/basketball/track) and in the olympics, i like them cause they get u in shape, and are WAY good for you...but they'll eff you up if u don't do 'em right

Which gyms allow Olympic lifts?
