<p>so i have a few questions about UT's social/dorm life. for instance, what is life like in jester? I've been inside for a few minutes and it seems like a megamall- how easy is it to make friends there, and what all goes on? Also, will the internet police get me if i use bittorrent on campus?</p>
<p>If you use peer guardian you should be fine, but I had vista so there was no good version at the time, nor is there a stable release yet, so I got caught very late in the year. Stay away from downloading HBO shows, and NBC universal movies. Umm don’t download music to be safe, they really cracked down hard towards the end of the year, and I heard some horror stories. Its a very social dorm, and can get loud at times, well at least we were never quiet when we were there( I lived in san jac) haha.</p>
<p>My friend just got a warning from downloading The Office (NBC) through a torrent. I doubt they do much unless you have multiple violations and/or a large amount of pirated material.</p>
<p>If you really want to download use private groups that upload with rapidshare (or other servers). It’s as easy as that and no risk at all.</p>
