So i had my orientation today and it was alright all the way through and then at the very end i went to the residence living desk or whatever its called and asked on the status of my application since i hadnt heard back from them yet. So i come to find out that the three dorms i applied for (manzanita, san pablo, and palo verde) were all filled months before i applied, and the *ing that i talked to when i did apply ASSURED ME OVER AND VOER AGAIN THAT THERE WaS PLENTY OF ROOM IN ALL THREE AND I SHOULDNT WOORY THAT MUCH BECAUSE I WAS GARAUNTEED AT SPOT. So since im going to be put up in a hotel instead i was wondering…

How much of a chance do i have of someone dropping out of the three that i mentioned and me moving over there right away???

a few people we know who were told as you were that they would be placed in the hotel temporarily have recently received dorm assignments (One in Manzy, the other in Palo Verde West). If you haven't heard yet, you probably will soon.

No sun card yet. But the housing package arrived today, giving the names and addresses and phone numbers of my daughter's suitemates, but the space for her roomate information was absolutely blank. And the move-in date and time are different from the schedule posted online. So I guess I will be calling first thing Monday (daughter is away for the next three weeks and left me in charge of "details."

My daughter got her sun card at orientation in March. We live 7 miles away from Asu and didn't receive her room info today. It usually only takes one day for things to get her so hopefully it will come Monday.

lalady, I will probably wait until after the mail comes Monday so you have the morning all to yourself. Maybe your daughter won't have a roommate when she first moves in. Or they are trying to move someone from the hotel.

The two girls we know who were assigned to the hotel got moved a couple of weeks ago, but I am sure there are more waiting for dorm assignments.
As for time, do they really move in at 6 am? It is fine with me, but my daughter is going to howl.

Wow, I didn't know they started that early. It will be cooler then, but I know my daughter would have a hard time getting up then. I know alot of kids went to get their keys and stuff then moved in whenever they wanted the last few years. Last year my daughters time was 10 am and we didn't move her stuff till the evening. But she moved some of her stuff during the day with her boyfriend.

That sounds like good advice. Maybe we will go over early with her to get her key and do her paperwork, then mover her stuff in the evening. Her time actually said 6:00 am to 8:00 am. I can't stand lines and waiting (what planet am I from?) so my iclination is to be there at six. I am sure she will tell me that only "losers" show up at that hour!

Last year was the first year they first had you go to Wells Fargo Arena I didn't go with my daughter since it was her sophomore year but she said it was very easy the way they had it set up to get your dorm keys and mail box keys. Her freshmen year you went to the dorm then to the Ups store. So it was alot of waiting in line. If my daughter gets the 6 am I think we will try to get there some time in the middle of 6 and 8.

My son's still waiting for his packet (he's assigned to PV West). His friend received his packet on Saturday (McClintock). Hopefully, we'll get something soon. We're driving down from No. Cal. with a stop at Disneyland so there's no way we're getting to check-in in the morning. I was told you could move in any time AFTER your check-in date/time, but not before; and to get to the arena before 2pm.
