<p>If you have a friend attending you can request to be in the same room. If you want air you can request A/C but it is typically given as first preference to kids with allegrgies etc. as most rooms don;t have A/C but don’t fret 80% of the year you likely don’t need it- but its hot the first 2-3 weeks of the year and towards the end of the year. THere may be other ways to request a dorm type and you should check with Duke. Freshman are all on one side of the Campus which as it turns out everyone really likes.</p>

<p>In response to the original question, I’m pretty sure you can request single, double, or triple, yes. However, the majority of rooms are obviously doubles, so you might not get what you request.</p>
