I just got the freshman questionnaire for room assignments and they list all the possible freshman dorms(Pratt, James, Stearns, North, South, Appleton, Williston) as having mostly one room doubles with very few singles, but I was sure that when I visited they took us through either James or Stearns and we saw a two room double. While there wasnt an actual closing door between the rooms, there was a wall with only a doorway in one corner to connect them. Is this type of room available in the freshman dorms? If so, which buildings would I be most likely to get one in. Thanks.

The only freshman dorms that have 2 room doubles are James, Stearns, and Charles Pratt, so those would be your best bet.

Thanks, do you know about what percent of the rooms in each building is a two room double?

You can look at floor plans here https://www.amherst.edu/~dos/reslife/floorplans/main.html

that should give you more information

A pretty good chunk of them, I'd say.

Now that the trailers have become upperclassmen singles, all the freshman dorms will be pretty nice. Lucky kids.

Edit: I thought all James and Stearns two-room doubles had closing doors between them?

They do have closing doors between them.

do james and stearns not have alundry?

They do. There's a laundry room in the basement.

Forget about all that and just go for Pratt. It's brand-new. They're still finishing it up, actually.

WHich is the new dorm, and how good is ti?

Charles Pratt is the new dorm, and the floor plan looks very nice.

how do you log in? how do you know ur username and password?
