I am planning to get one of the least expensive dorm

the closest dorm to the engineering building would be simkins, but few people choose to live there since it is an all-male dorm. your next best bet would be the ones in the quad. but if you’re not in the honors program, and since you want to save money, you might want to consider kinsolving, although that might cost a tad more than the regular dorms. the regular dorms (jester, moore-hill, prather, roberts, and brackenridge) are the cheapest and are closer to the gym, football stadium, and library (not sure how many libraries are on campus), but they are on the opposite side of the campus. the distance isn’t too bad though, unless you hate walking.

Kinsolving and Littlefield are the same price as regular dorms with community baths. I believe half of Kinsolving has connecting baths, and that costs $500 more per year.

It is a hike from the 21st St dorms to the engineering school, which is on Dean Keeton–about a half mile uphill. It’s still a bit of a hike from the Whitis dorms, but not quite as far.

one note, Kinsolving is an all women’s dorm. :)
