Thanks so much!!
Im guessing the rug should be big enough just 2 cover the area in between the beds because I read that all the other furniture is bolted down?
And there’s a chest inside the closet right?

You might want to talk to your roommate before you buy a rug. Another option is to buy a rug off one of the trucks that show up around town on move-in weekend.

In East, the “chest” inside the closet is really only the size of a nightstand and the desk only has a few drawers. If you have a lot of tshirts and stuff that you would keep in drawers instead of on hangers, you may want to buy one of those organizers that hangs from the closet rod and has several compartments that are like shelves or cubbies. You can stack folded clothes in them.

ok. im fine with hangers, but does the closet rod hold a good amount of clothes?
& about the rug, the rest of the furniture is bolted down right? So it doesnt have to be too big?

Atherton is in South and as such is slightly different from East

There are no table/desk lamps, but the fluorescents mounted in the room in East should be sufficient - there is a big one that lights up the entire room pretty well and a small one on each side of the room that is good if you’re up and your roommate is trying to sleep

stagedoor22 - I didn’t notice that in the dorm we looked at …and if (as psu2806 mentions), you can add bed risers to the beds…they really can’t be bolted down.

But - it would be nice to have someone clarify this point!!! ;)

Currently I am living in the South dorms and both the desks and beds are movable. However, I don’t think everything is movable in East. I went in one once and I recall it being quite small. There wasn’t a whole lot of rearranging to do in there because of a lack of space. Hope this helps!

Yeah, south and east are completely different. In east everything but the beds are bolted down. There’s no rearranging to do because it’s physically impossible to move the furniture.
