Dorm questions

A.) Will I be able to fit a desktop PC and/or a television into a triple?

B.) Do all the dorms have internet and cable? What's the internet like? Do we have to pay for cable?

Thanks.

A) Yes you can fit a desktop and a television ( I wouldn't get a HUGE TV though, maybe 15 inches or so)
B) Yes all the dorms have internet and cable. Internet is pretty fast most of the times but has its down periods. And cable is free and you get a bunch of good channel plus an NYU movie channel.

a few questions

A) do most people who bring TVs buy them in NYC? I live in CA and I want to bring my TV with me to save some bucks (its a small one like 15 in) but how could I transport it there?

B) do most people bring desktops?

A) Dunno where people get their TVs. No one will look at you funny if you bring your own, though.

B) No, most people have laptops.

Space is at a premium, especially in LCTs. Wait until you get your roommate info and coordinate with them as to who is bringing what. That way you won't all be bringing a tv, dvd player, stereo, microwave, fridge, etc. Shipping a tv from California is going to cost you more, probably, than buying a new on in the city.

Most people have laptops. That way you can use it in places other than your room and also have it to take home with you on breaks.

lol i have a big media center laptop (17" screen). its gonna be a hassle lugging that around

Those rates don't include meal plans, do they?

No, mealplans are not included in those amounts.

My laptop's battery sucks...it doesn't last more than a few minutes without being hooked up to an outlet. Would this be a problem at all? Do the libraries have accessible outlets for this kind of thing? I just want to have a variety of places to study or write essays etc.
