Dorm Recommendations?

I am an OOS student who is looking for some recommendations as to where I should live. The things that are important to me are(in order of decreasing importance):
1. Middling noise level(loud but not still able to work in)
2. New(er) and nice(r) building
3. Suite Style
4. A/C
5. South Campus

Are there any dorms that match these criteria? As I have never really explored carolina, I have no idea.
If possible, please suggest two North Campus and two South campus dorms, just like it asks on the housing application.

Also, on a side note: Is it possible for OOS students to request an OOS roommate?

Thanks in Advance.

of course!
oos can dorm with whomever they desire

I guess I didn’t really phrase my question very well. I don’t have anybody particular in mind, I just know that I would like to room with someone in the same situation as me. So, I would like to request an OOS roommate, but not one specific person.

Just beware…that oos with oos thing doesn’t always work out. My d had the roomie from he** her first year, and she was also an oos student. This year, her roommate is from the Triangle area and she absolutely loves her. They get on wonderfully and will room together next year.

As far as dorms go…sounds like you want one of the newer dorms on South. I think UNC has been busy renaming the directional dorms, but I’d suggest one of those. Fair warning…they can be very noisy.

Ok…I seriously don’t know what that means. Which ones are the directional dorms? and why does renaming them change anything? Which ones are the newer dorms on South Campus?

Have you been to the housing website? The South Campus “directional” (geographic description…east, west, north, south) dorms are located in two newly named communities: Manning East and Manning West. These communities consist of four of the newest dorms down on South Campus and are very nice. (Some of the older dorms on South Campus have been renovated and are equally nice.)

See if this helps…
