Dorm Reputations

i just got accepted and i am starting to look into housing at tulane.
right now i am looking at sharp and monroe and was just wondering what reputations each of the dorms at tulane had.

thanks

sharp is disgusting, but very social. monroe is not as disgusting and still very social, but everyone wants monroe. so far this year, people have walked out of their dorms and seen people peeing in the hall in sharp. people have been charged for crazy things (i.e. bodily fluids on the window sill, etc.). If you want a social dorm, I would pick sharp or monroe. I am living in Wall right now and hating it, so I am moving dorms. I know a lot of people LOVE Wall so my experience is a unique one I think. Anyways, good luck.

Why do you hate Wall?

Butler sucks socially...but if you want a quiet place to study, I guess it's good.

Monroe is DISGUSTING! But the rooms are nice and mattresses are good! It is very social and sicknesses get passed quickly. haha. i'm just messing with you about that no honestly sharp is ick, monroe is good, wall is realllllly nice but samdub is right not very social. So, come on down give it a visit and see what you like!

I lived in Sharp. It's definitely the least nice of the freshman dorms, but it's not THAT bad. The rooms are decent size, they recently re-landscaped the quad in front, and the people there are all pretty awesome. I loved it, and I'd recommend it for the real "freshman experience." I think it's by far the most social dorm.

Other than that, Monroe is good too. Smaller rooms, nicer building, slightly less social. As for JL... My then-girlfriend lived there and she loved it. Huge rooms, nice furniture, known as the "princess dorm," with a very sorority house feel. Never met a girl who didn't love it though. Patterson... never heard much about it, didn't know anyone that lived there. Butler is kind of lame; it's the honors dorm, but it seems like most of the cool, overachieving, work-hard, play-hard honors students live in Wall now. As for Wall... probably the nicest dorm on campus, including the upperclassmen ones, but it's really exclusive... Wall people tend to hang out with only Wall people. Plus, you have to do a bunch of committees to stay there, which apparently suck.
